The Google+ statistics seem inflated because everyone with a Google mail account automatically has a Google+. Our University switched to Google as our email host, adding 30,000 new users and 6,000 more users each year. I am sure many companies and schools have this same system because Google is a terrific host.

After reading this, I looked at everyone in my circle and my recommended friends on Google+, no one has any content shared. My age range of friends is 20-25, so maybe it is just not become popular with our demographic yet as a social media site.

Google Drive is my favorite tool for working on and sharing projects at work and at school, besides that I only use my Google account as an email server.

I would say this same group of people shares content several times a day on Twitter and Facebook, so in my eyes Google+ is not really as predominant as they are presenting in this info graph, in terms of a social media site. While there number of users are high, I would say that the content being shared is probably much lower than other social media sites.

Just my observations, but the info graph is still super interesting and valuable. Thanks for sharing!

    • Great points here Marisa! At this point, I agree that G+ engagements are typically lower that all other social networks. Perhaps, this is a result of Google positioning the network behind other products such as search, video and email. Although Google is known for slowly rolling out features within G+, I think this strategy will pay off in the long run as consumers will habitually use its products and ultimately its social network.
